Started Today

I kicked off my new healthy eating habit as of today.  I made sure I had plenty of PBR's last night, just in case it may be a while before my next round.

I made my first nutriblast today.  Spinach, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and a banana.  Tasted ok, going to have to get used to drinking the greens(very earthy tasting).

I also started a facebook page for our little club.  www.facebook.com/Sysfat.  I think it will be easier for everyone to post pictures and comments than on this blog.  Let me know what you think and good luck to all!!

Fat Club Members,

First of all thank you for getting involved.  This will be fun, motivational, and mostly helpful to lose some of the weight we have gained over the last few years.  I've decided not to add the before pictures yet.  I will if you think that would be cool, I just don't want to embarrass anyone even though everyone looked pretty good except for a few extra pounds hanging around.  I do have to give it up to Travis K who went half commando for his shot---freaking awesome dude!

I encourage you to post comments, links to helpful sites or things that are helping you lose weight. We are all in this together and although the 120$ prize is nice, it's the getting healthy and losing of the weight that is the most important.  Except for one member who has some secret super weight loss secret that he will reveal only after the end of the contest (TP).

Dr. Oz tips


Let’s first remember that diets don’t work. It’s all about making lifestyle change. After I read Dr. Oz’s book YOU: On a Diet, I took action right away by starting to make those lifestyle changes in order to lose weight and get healthy. Below is my Top 10 Must-Do List to lose or maintain your weight and get healthy.
  1. Get rid of the salt. Don’t even keep it in your house and never eat anything with more than 400 mg of sodium.
  2. Get rid of sugar. Again, don’t keep it in your house.
  3. Never eat anything white. Whole grain is the way to go!
  4. Add 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon to your bowl of steel-cut oatmeal every morning.
  5. Don’t buy anything you know isn’t healthy, so you won’t be tempted to eat it.
  6. Exercise every day. Strength train 2-3 days a week and do cardio every day for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  7. Drink plenty of ice water.
  8. Meditate every day. Think positive and surround yourself with positive people.
  9. Never skip meals or snacks. This is what keeps your metabolism going.
  10. If you make a mistake, it’s OK as long as you hop back on the wagon with your next meal or snack.
Although I have many other tips on losing weight and keeping it off, these are the main ones that worked for me. This June will be 4 years that I’ve maintained my weight loss and my Top 10 List is the main reason I’ve been able to do it!      

Fat Club Begins

Fat Club is starting Friday April 26th and our contest goes until July 26th.  Really excited to have my friends from work join in and I will be posting lots of pictures, starting with before pictures tomorrow.
